Our roots go back to 1988 when Sotirios Kalantzis founded this family-run business as a small nursery selling flowered pot-plants to both final consumers and wholesalers. The first location was in Kifissia, a North Suburb of Athens but very fast expanding options were limited and company relocated in 1992 to Marathon city, 35klms North-East to Athens historical center.

From that day, expanding never finished. New nurseries were added in 1995, 2000, 2004, 2011, 2013 and in 2015 the initial greenhouse gave its place to a new, modern facility. The next year the company set roots to South-West Greece for the production of gardenia and in 2018 a new field in the center of Marathon city was added to serve the increasing needs of space and production. Mainly supplying the Greek and Balkan markets with finished products, Kalantzis Plants managed to be known as a quality driven and reliable partner.

The last decade the control of the company passed to the second generation consisted by Chara and Anastasios who decided to focus more to young plants and breeding. New contracts were signed with world-known breeders and testing and representations of their genetics was set as priority alongside company’s own breeding efforts. Exports to other countries in Europe, Africa and Asia started, bringing the company closer to its goal: to offer worldwide Production of Excellence made in Greece!
